Freedom in a Fence

This has been the weather today via the view from my desk:
Hurricane force winds...
Mixture of pollen and SNOW...
Clear sunny skies...
Repeat the above cycle.
Crazy.

We recently finished fencing in our backyard. Below is a picture of Scout watching the fence men work from the kitchen window. I told Scout to watch and make sure these men installed his fence properly and the dog took this assignment VERY seriously.

He stood at this window and stared intently the entire time the men worked on this side of our house. The men were working diligently, but anytime they paused to talk to one another ("Hey is this in straight?" or "Can you hand me that tool?") Scout began growling at them as if to say "No talking on the job! Get my fence up!" As soon as the men stopped talking and got back to work Scout would stop growling and wag his tail a little. Scout and the workers repeated this several times and I thought it was quite funny.

And just for fun, here is a shot displaying how much Scout enjoys being able to roam free in his yard without a leash. This moment was captures after approximately 3 hours of freedom (and flirtation with the golden retriever next door). Contentment at its best I think. :-)

Aren't pets hilarious?! They really do have a sense about certain things. Scout must be thrilled with his new freedom!
