It's windy and not supposed to be above 40 degrees today... BRRR!
The heat in my office was off all weekend and didn't get turned on until 15 minutes before I got to work this morning... BRRRRRR!
As brisk as it is outside it is one of the many things I really love about December. In general most everyone seems to have a little bit happier outlook on life during the holidays. In no particular order here are some of the things I love:

As brisk as it is outside it is one of the many things I really love about December. In general most everyone seems to have a little bit happier outlook on life during the holidays. In no particular order here are some of the things I love:
driving by holiday decorations in stores and houses
listening to Christmas music (only in December)
going to holiday parties with friends, family, and co-workers
pretending like we will have a white Christmas even though I live in the south
wearing layers and warm weathered clothing
celebrating the birth of Jesus
annnnnnnd
continuing and beginning new traditions
This will be my first Christmas as a wife, and so far it has been so special and exciting starting new traditions with my husband. Last night we went and picked out our Christmas tree, tonight we're going to decorate it, this weekend begins the series of holiday parties, and later this month B and I will get to experience every Christmas family gathering with both families for the first time since we've known each other. There are so many little moments coming up this month, and I'm sure we'll make lots of little memories too!
Speaking of little moments... here's one from last night. I got home from my seasonal retail job last night about 9:15ish. B had been home working on "home improvement projects" (aka hanging another shelf in our laundry room and 2 coat racks - 1 at each front entrance- all of which turned out wonderfully), and when I walked in he and Scout were dancing to a Michael Jackson song off this greatest hits cd. I'm talking all out dancing... moonwalking and everything! Well, Scout was just jumping around, but I'm sure that was his version of dancing. B's was also on the phone with my parents talking about football, and I doubt they knew he was dancing. Moments like that are good reminders that I am amazingly blessed with a wonderful husband.
When he got off the phone I joined in... I'm sure anyone driving by our house would have thought we'd lost our minds, but it was so much fun to just be silly together ... and it was a great way to wind down after a really busy day. :-)
By the way, I'm taking a poll.... lights on the Christmas tree... do you prefer all white, colored, all one color other than white, other (describe if you chose this one)? We're trying to decide what lights to use on our tree so your input will be taken very seriously!

Too funny! Love it when they think no one's watching.
Our lights change each year. Some years our tree is classy (clear lights) and other years ours is fun (multi-colored). It all depends on our decorating mood/motif!
My bro and sis-in law love purple and red so their tree has purple and red lights and ornaments. It actually looks really good!
Good luck choosing!
